Netzach, pronounced Net-zah, and meaning Victory, begins the lowest of the pairings around the central sephirah of Tiphareth. These are concerned with the attributes of Feelings (Netzach) and Thoughts (Hod, which follows next)
We think of these attributes as being high and refined but the Tree puts them into their proper perspective; and thus shows us how lofty are the perspectives to be had by an adept who can work higher up the Tree and therefore at a higher level of his or her being.
The “refulgent splendour” of the Yetziratic text quoted below is really the power of the Creative Imagination - one of the main tools of the modern Magician. This is also the power behind the idea of the artist’s Muse. We are now at the lower level of the psyche, where the power of thought and feeling must be balanced before we can attempt to raise our consciousness to the next level - and thereby climb that beautiful hill to Tiphareth, the home of our true Self.
Netzach is the Victory of Beauty Triumphant, the power that flows from the vision of Tiphareth, but it still needs to be made concrete and communicable in its twin, Hod.
Think of the most beautiful man or woman you have ever known, think of them naked in all their radiant glory and think of how you felt on that day. Let the power of the Green Spring flow through you and know that, in recollecting this, you have separated what belongs to you eternally (the Archetype, which never dies) from the experience of that archetype that may think you have lost. When wisdom dawns here, you will have truly touched the power and love of Netzach
On to the next sephirah, Hod.
