We are pleased to announce the 2009/2010 Alchemy Series. This will span nine of the Lodge meetings, ending June 2010.
The language of Alchemy is the language of the Magical Qabalah. When studying it, the SOL student is brought face to face with the original ideas that gave rise to the Golden Dawn’s system of teaching. In the time of the Golden Dawn, such ideas were still considered controversial. We live in a more tolerant age, and can explore the essence of Alchemy with intellectual and ritualistic freedom. We will focus, first, on the essence of the three alchemical principles, Sulphur, Mercury and Salt, and investigate their hidden meanings. The latter part of the course will examine the Elements, and their underlying interaction with the principles. Through this process, we will create our own rituals to bring us closer, emotionally, to the secret message of the Alchemists.
Lectures will normally be followed by an Inner Court workshop in the Temple.
